Phalloplasty is a procedure aimed at enhancing the aesthetic appearance of the male genital area. There are different methods to achieve this harmony: we can increase the length of the penis or enhance its thickness. Many men feel self-conscious about the size or shape of their penis, conditions that can be modified or improved through surgical or minimally invasive procedures. There is no specific size requirement to be a candidate for these procedures; it is simply an option to aesthetically improve the genital area of the patient with any underlying condition.
Penis thickness can be improved through the application of fatty tissue or hyaluronic acid. Generally, a change of approximately 1-2 cm in thickness is expected. To increase the length of the penis, we perform an incision on the suspensory ligament, resulting in an increase of 2-4 cm in length. Results vary depending on the patient’s underlying conditions, postoperative care, and pre-surgery expectations.
It is a procedure that involves minimal downtime, with moderate and tolerable pain, and a satisfactory recovery in most cases. However, it requires special care after the procedure.
At Majestic Plastic Surgery, we believe that the final result is largely determined by the surgeon’s concept of beauty. At Majestic, the combination of feminine and masculine perspectives and the presence of two surgeons performing the same procedure ensures superior body harmony, reduced surgical time, and unparalleled support, leading to exceptional results.
Indications:
This procedure is indicated for patients who:
• Wish to increase the thickness of their penis.
• Desire to lengthen their penis.
How It Is Performed:
A pre-surgical consultation is essential to determine the patient’s needs, expectations, and conditions before the procedure. The surgery is performed in an operating room with complete asepsis and antisepsis. An incision is made in the pubic area, the planes are dissected, and a cut is made on the suspensory ligament of the penis to increase its length. If necessary, liposuction of the pubic mound can be performed to enhance the visibility of the penis from the base. Additionally, if required, fat transfer to the penis can be done to increase its thickness.
Pre-Surgery Instructions:
• Avoid anti-inflammatory medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or diclofenac, as they affect blood clotting and may increase bleeding during surgery. Only take acetaminophen for pain.
• Notify us if you are taking any herbal medications, vitamins, or natural supplements, as some may cause issues during surgery. Ideally, discontinue these at least one week before the procedure (e.g., Ginkgo biloba, Omega-3, multivitamins).
• Inform us if you develop a cold, injury, or any other condition during this period.
• Smoking can affect healing; please refrain from smoking for at least 15 days before the procedure.
One week before surgery:
• Attend a pre-anesthesia assessment to address any concerns about the type of anesthesia and to sign necessary consent forms.
• Meet with us to clarify any questions about the procedure and to finalize the implant size.
Post-Surgery Instructions:
1. Upon returning home, consume liquid or soft foods before starting your medications.
2. Walk regularly to prevent complications and blood clots in the legs, which could travel to the lungs, heart, or brain. Ideally, walk for at least 15 minutes every 3 hours; more is better (assisted walking).
3. A small amount of blood from the incisions is normal; if it is excessive and continuous, inform your surgeons or nurse.
4. Take prescribed medications as directed (antibiotics are mandatory!).
5. Clean and dress the affected areas, following the doctor’s instructions closely.
6. Avoid physical exercise for the first week.
7. Do not trauma the area under any circumstances.
8. Avoid sexual activity for 3-4 weeks.
9. Avoid sun exposure for at least two months after the procedure, as small bruises could become permanent spots.
10. Limit exercise for at least two weeks after surgery, with intense exercise resuming only after six weeks.
11. Avoid strenuous activities such as mopping, sweeping, ironing, lifting children, or heavy objects for one week.
12. Attend the scheduled follow-up appointment at the clinic.
13. For any doubts, please contact the available staff.
