Gynecomastia correction is a procedure aimed at improving the aesthetic appearance of the male chest area. It is common for some patients to experience swelling in the pectoral region that they find unsatisfactory. This condition can result from excess fatty tissue, glandular tissue, or a combination of both.

The gynecomastia correction process is a surgical procedure performed under anesthesia in an operating room. Depending on the patient’s characteristics, liposuction may be performed to remove localized fat, or if necessary, an incision may be made at the lower portion of the areola to excise the gland. In some specific cases, both procedures may be required to achieve optimal results.

It is common for this procedure to be combined with other body contouring surgeries, such as liposuction, abdominoplasty, pectoral implants, or muscle marking and volumization, to achieve harmonious results across the entire body contour.

At Majestic Plastic Surgery, we believe that the final result is significantly influenced by the surgeon’s concept of beauty. Our unique combination of feminine and masculine perspectives, along with having two surgeons involved in the same procedure, ensures superior body harmony, reduced surgical time, and unparalleled support, resulting in exceptional outcomes.

Indications:

This procedure is indicated for patients who:

• Wish to improve the volume of their pectoral area.

• Have a significant amount of fatty tissue in the pectoral region.

• Have a large mammary gland.

• Want to enhance the upper pole of the pectoral area, achieving better harmony in this body area.

• Seek to create overall harmony in their body contour.

• Are undergoing liposuction, lipoabdominoplasty, abdominal marking, or pectoral implants and desire harmony throughout their body contour.

How It Is Performed:

A pre-surgical consultation is essential to determine the patient’s needs, expectations, and conditions before the procedure. The surgery is performed in an operating room under complete asepsis and antisepsis. Different approaches are used depending on the requirements. If only fat removal is needed, two access points will be made, and a pre-prepared fluid mixture will be infiltrated. After a specific action time, fat will be extracted using specialized liposuction cannulas, and the area will be smoothed. If glandular tissue removal is necessary, an incision will be made at the lower portion of the areola, the tissue will be dissected to locate the gland, which will then be excised. The area will be checked for residual bleeding and closed in layers. Both techniques may be combined if required. If the goal is to masculinize the pectoral area, intramuscular lipoinjection will be added for athletic volumization. A pectoral implant may also be used during the same surgical session for greater definition if needed.

Pre-Surgery Instructions:

• Avoid anti-inflammatory medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or diclofenac, as they affect blood clotting and may increase bleeding during surgery. Only take acetaminophen for pain.

• Inform us if you develop a cold, injury, or any other condition during this period.

• Smoking can affect healing; please refrain from smoking for at least 15 days before the procedure.

One week before surgery:

• Attend a pre-anesthesia assessment to address any concerns about the type of anesthesia and to sign necessary consent forms.

• Meet with us to clarify any questions about the procedure and to finalize the implant size.
